Scenes from Barcelona

This is a person, jsyk. Not a statue.
The infamous unfinished Sagrada Familia
Crazy marzipan works of art at La Boqueria
Fruit pate...so good!
So is Columbus pointing to where he thinks America is or where it actually is?
A typical seafood Paella dish--saffron rice with shrimp, mussels and squid.
To start our great and glorious final European vacation in April, Ian and I took a train to Barcelona and met up with Ian's parents, Craig and Kell. We spent two very busy days there where we ate lots of tapas, soaked up the sun and gawked at the marvelous architecture. It was super duper crowded, which was kind of overwhelming, but it was a beautiful place.

I definitely want to go back and spend more time in Spain and see some of the smaller places, if only because I was ashamed of my Spanish brain cloud. I'm not good at French, but my instinctual responses were all in French. I once had this problem, but it was reversed...seems like there's only room for one and a half languages in my brain. Every si came out as oui. So dumb.

From then on, we rented a car and drove to Aix-en-Provence. I like Spain and all, but I was happy to be back in France, especially because we were in towns that were much smaller. I'll post more from the south later, b'cuz it was teh best.

Adioths Barthelona!
